BORGO BERNARDINI
Near LUCCA
|
Sleeps 24
Borgo Bernardini, a little hamlet tucked
away amongst the gently folding
Lucchese hills, is a gracious and luxurious
Tuscan retreat.
Originally a wild boar hunting lodge, it
was extended in the early 1800 to become
a small village for the workers on the
estate which was then owned by Count
Cosimo Bernardini. Today, its restoration
has accentuated the values of space and
setting - inner courtyards, softly lit old
walls, rambling and enchanted silence….a
genuine time forgotten atmosphere
immersed in a splendid aristocratic estate
of weeping willows, fountains and formal
gardens. A place for gatherings and a place
for solitude, Borgo Bernardini is a home of
such beauty, tranquility, and comfort that
you will find hard to leave.
Fully air conditioned, Borgo Bernardini has
twelve individually styled double bedrooms,
all with modern en-suite baths. The gracious
living overflows into the many reception
rooms - the magnificent banquet hall, the
formal living room with views across the
peschiera, the card and billiard room, and the
domed music room.
With a brigade of domestic staff at hand, and
a chef to tempt you with the many delights of
the Tuscan table, halcyon days await you..
Borgo Bernardini is set in an area of
outstanding beauty, yet within easy reach of
Tuscany's finest cities, historical towns and
medieval villages. The area is the quintessence
of everything that is enchanting about Italy -
the vast and varied scenery, the food and fine
wine, the culture, art and history, the hilltop
villages, narrow cobbled streets, grand piazzas,
the passionate people. Discover the splendors
of renaissance Florence with Giotto;s tower,
the Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza dei Signori,
trundle the winding roads through Chianti that
lead to Siena, the walled town of Monteriggioni,
and the towering landscape of San Gimignano,
adventure through the cliff clinging village of
Cinque Terre, or simply loose yourself to Lucca.
Nearby are tennis facilities, riding and a golf
driving range; or an 18 hole course at
Montecatini or Versilia.
